Money Anxiety
A 4-week practice for the anxiety that is not really about the money.
Money anxiety is rarely about the math. Most of the time, even people in stable financial situations carry it: as comparison, as scarcity, as the quiet habit of measuring your worth by your balance. A financial plan helps with the numbers. It does not reach the fear underneath them.
This is a four-week program of contemplative practice for that fear: catching the comparison as it happens, loosening the scarcity grip, and deciding what is enough. It does not give you a budget. It will not tell you what to invest in.
Week by week
What the 4 weeks ask of you.
-
The Body Before the Math
Where money-fear lands in the body, and how to breathe there. A steadying practice for the late-night pull to check the balance, and words for the money-thought when it arrives.
-
The Comparison
The hidden engine. A few minutes to come back to the present after scrolling, a closer look at the highlight reel behind the comparison thought, and the old practice of sympathetic joy: letting another person's good fortune be theirs.
-
The Scarcity Brain
How scarcity narrows attention, and how to widen it back out. Staying with the urge to spend without acting on it, and noticing which money beliefs you learned young, in someone else's voice.
-
Enough
The voice that ties your worth to your balance, what money actually serves in the life you want, and the practice of defining enough for your actual life.
A prompt from inside
When you think about money this week, where in the body do you feel it. Write one line. Not what you should do. Where it lives.
Journal prompts in Stillee are short on purpose. Three sentences is usually enough. Five is plenty. The point is the look, not the essay.
FAQ
The questions people ask before starting.
Is this financial advice?
No. The program does not give financial advice. It supports the emotional and somatic side of money stress, which a financial plan does not address on its own.
Do I need to be in debt for this to be relevant?
No. Many people in stable financial situations carry significant body-level money worry. The program is for that, too.
How is the program paced?
Four weeks, three short practices a week, with a reading and a journal prompt alongside. The weeks build on each other, so start at week one.
